Maria Montessori

(August 31, 1870 - May 6, 1952) Maria was the first woman, in Italy, to graduate with a degree in medicine from the University of Rome. She worked with mentally retarded children; then served in a variety of university teaching positions.

Vocabulary Word of the Week

Jumping through hoops to learn new vocabulary! Montessori School 11 is supporting a vocabulary initiative for all of the levels. It is our hope that by supporting this initiative the children will be better able to handle vocabulary throughout all curriculum areas and all grade levels.
